Grab a Chunk of New Styles

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Chunk have always been a brand that enjoy taking a satirical sideswipe at retro culture. And this new Collection continues this favourite theme of theirs. Placing popular classic characters in strange new situations is a good way to get you laughing out loud! That’s why we’re excited to feature all the new designs on our website at urbanretro.co.uk. This season, Chunk have taken influences from police procedures to create pixellated mugshots of much-loved characters! In another clever fusion of genres the famous Star Wars characters such as Darth Vader and Chewbacca are re-represented in an old-skool videogame style. Chunk really know how to be humorous and the Turtle Power T-shirt featuring Leonardo slicing a Duracell bunny is a great example of this! If you think these sound funny, you should see all the other new Chunk T-Shirt designs that are now available at UrbanRetro.co.uk.

Mr Jago likes to Play Nice

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

New brand Play Nice is the one to watch this season. You see, it’s the Mr Jago connection that’s got us all excited. That’s why we are so pleased to tell you that we’re featuring this exclusive label’s range at urbanretro.co.uk. Mr Jago is a legend on the street art scene. A founder member of the Bristol-based Scrawl collective, he’s now pushing things forward in fashion too. Never one to be boxed in to a single specific style, his work is a fusion of manga, quirky cartoons and abstract influences. This unique combination comes across in each and every one of the designs he has created for his Play Nice Collection. From the darkly comic Dynaman character prints to swirling paint-splash doodles and the mashed-up map of Tokyo – this is art with a distinctly urban flavour.
